The MDS2 systems captures two audio channels, including one wireless microphone channel, one in-car microphone, one video channel, and a GPS navigation data stream. This information is stored in a format that guarantees that the GPS audio, and video data is accurately synchronized during recording and playback. This ability revolutionizes the way that law enforcement captures event data and paints a truer picture of the situation as it unfolds. Data can be retrieved instantaneously based on location, car, or time, or any combination of these. During playback, the path of the car is plotted on a map, allowing courts or mission control to see exactly the route taken.
