UltraStor RS2080 is the award winning ATA based RAID storage system designed to deliver unsurpassed performance and offer Enterprise class features affordably.UltraStor RS2080 is part of the next generation in direct
attached and shared storage solutions. Available in Fibre Channel to ATA, and SCSI to ATA configurations.
UltraStor RS2080 is capable of supporting data intensive applications such as non-linear editing, multitrack audio, video streaming, and surveillance DVR.

Professional Features and Performance
The RS2080 series features a 64-bit, PowerPC processor with 32KB / 32KB I/D cache and 256KB L2 cache embedded. Our dual channel RS2080 models are built with a custom ASIC dual system bus architecture with a dedicated XOR engine and has 128MB of SODIMM (upgradeable to 1 GB) and has two Ultra-160 SCSI channels that support up to 8 ATA drives. The UltraStor RS2080 delivers amazing transfer rates exceeding 210MB/sec., earning this innovative technology the prestigious "Mario Award" at NAB2003.

High Data Availability
The RS2080 offers multiple RAID level settings including levels 0, 1 (0+1), 3, and 5. Automatic drive failure detection, automatic drive rebuild, hot spare and background rebuild. Disk hot swap, and online background rebuild make it possible for users to retrieve and write data at all times. The RS2080 also give users the piece of mind that they will never lose data due to bad blocks. If bad blocks are encountered during the data rebuild process, LBA ( Logical Block Addressing ) will be initiated and the rebuild process will continue with unaffected sectors. Also featuring Dynamic On-line RAID Expansion, additional capacity can easily be added without system downtime.

Storage Management
The UltraStor RS2080 comes with Java-based GUI RAID management software designed specifically for IDE based RAID subsystems. This easy-to-use software operating under Java 2.0 (Java Run-time Environment 1.2 or 1.3), provides users with current status, errors,activities, and HDD capacities to easily pinpoint hardware issues before they become problematic. Many RAID controller functions, such as password management and firmware upgrades can be handled through the software console. RAIDGuide makes managing your RAID subsystem an easy task.

Controls and Indicators
Featuring a front LCD control panel for setup and configuration - when a device fails, a built-in alarm will sound and failure indication will be shown on the panel. Drive LED indicators include power, busy, and attention.
